In this lecture, Liedeke Plate discusses the state of feminism in the Netherlands today. Taking Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s impact on Dutch political life as its starting point, this lecture discusses the forms that feminism takes in the Netherlands today and the issues it addresses, assessing its impact in a variety of domains.
Liedeke Plate is Associate Professor Gender Studies and Literary and Cultural Studies at Radboud University Nijmegen and a Visiting Scholar with UC Berkeley’s Beatrice Bain Research Group.
